I found a remedy for wrist pain while cycling. Well for me that is.
Allow me to preface this story with the reason for my pain. On Mothers Day 1997 I went to the track as I did multiple times a week those days. Not for cycling (cycling was my weekend in the woods hobby) for automobile racing. I was in a road course race when I crashed and was ejected from my vehicle. One of the injuries I sustained was to my left wrist. I was told I would not full range of motion and there would be pain. This is what it looks like today. Take note of the extra material.
I do have full range, and the pain isn’t always present. But I do have pain. Riding road, especially on bumpy roads would cause a great amount of pain during and after the ride. I would deal with it for my love of cycling.
This season I swapped to a pair of Easton carbon bars, (EC90 equipe classic bend). The bars themselves appear to be flexy. If you push on them there is noticable flex but it is intended flex. However the comfort this flex provides is unreal. The bars ride great and feel just fine when I lean or pull hard on them. even better? I got them on closeout super cheap. Less than $100 for top of the line bars!
It rained last night, I had no chance to ride so I spent a few minutes riding rollers, (ruining my tires). I am going out tonight in hopes of keeping my legs fresh. My hip is still sore, tight… etc.

I spewed some hatred toward the flagrant use of the Lion of Flanders on everything that has to do with cyclocross. Aparantly Ibis bikes doesn’t read my blog.. . they went ahead and applied the worn out logo to their new cross bike. Sigh….
The folks at velonews feel the same way. Can you blame them?
