How to make home made energy bars - My Recipe

To preface my recipe:

  • I am not a fan of uber peanut butter flavoring
  • I love chocolate
  • This may not save you money
  • Go time!

Get a large mixing bowl. Place the following ingredients in the bowl:
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup rolled oats
    1/2 cup oat bran
    1/2 cup chopped almonds
    1/4 cup shredded coconut
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup dried fruit (you pick, I like cranberries)
    1/4 cup 1% milk
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 cup Nutella
    1 tablespoon honey
    a pinch of chocolate chips
    1/4 cup fruity pebbles

Mix everything well in the bowl. I do it by hand. You canuse a mixer if you want.

Once mixed, take a square cake pan and line it with plastic wrap. Fill the wrap with the mixed ingredients. Let cool in fridge for atleast an hour.

Remove from your fridge. Place on cookie sheet (lightly oil with butter).

Preheat oven to 300F. Bake giant bar for 20 minutes.

Once done baking, let cool on rack (until totally cool), cut into shape and size you desire. I get about 15 bars from this recipe.

    Enjoy.

That is all you get from me. I have been sick all week and have not left my house since Monday. Therefore this is the best I could muster.

One final note. News this morning.

    Millions may lose TV today
More than 2 million households could see channels disappear as analog service ends.

I dare you to be ok with this and cancel your television subscription. It will free you like you cannot imagine.

      Hey Nick,

Glad you’re back, hope you get all well soon, it happens to the best of us, hell, that may be the only way we can get you to rest up. Once you get back on the bike you will be stronger than ever.
I’m on a Gluten free diet so I will have to make a few changes to your recipe before I try it.
Hope yu get some wheels beneath you soon!!!

Everyone that has sampled them love them. Even my non-cycling friends.

Thanks for the kind words. I am looking forward to riding next, once my chest clears up and I am no suffering. :)
