Biknd Bicycle Travel Case - Dreamy
Follow up here
I need a new travel case… It will probably be this one.
The case is a dream come true. The exterior is soft nylon and it can be packed away much smaller than it is when in use. The case has an internal rail system to mount your bike to. This ensures little to no movement during travel. The best part…. it has air cushion that you inflate one the case is packed and ready to go. Wait a second.. did I mention it holds two sets of wheels? Unreal thought went into the Helium. By far the best case I have seen to date. Now only if they were available for my trip in October.
From the people at Biknd
The Helium bike case will be available for purchase at many locations as well as online dealers by the end of January.
We will email you or you can visit our web site for the official release and dealer locations.
One option is to go to your favorite bike shop and ask them to order from us.
If you want one. Ask your local bike shop.
Sugested retail price $599.00

Any idea what an estimated weight is with a bike a two sets of wheels? I wonder how it compares to other cases when checking it on a plane.

The case weighs 9.5kg (20 lbs). Add those numbers to the weight of your bike and wheels.

I have the same pump for my exercise ball. It is very crummy. Youd think they would give you a better quality pump for all that money.

the wheels look pretty small. how well does it roll? is there a telescopic handle for taller people? how balanced is it when rolling it around?

I’ll be curious to read reviews once folks are able to get there hands on these. Hopefully, they’ll distribute some ‘demo’ units early so that they can be field tested before the January rollout. –ER

I doubt it. When you buy it.. thats your demo. Find out if it works or sucks once you shelled out $600 large!

Very interesting. The one issue I see is that your wheels are unprotected on the outer edges so when some airline dude drops a 50lbs bag sideways (worst yet the corner of a bag) on your bike bag only God knows what will happen. I am strange like that, gotta put my hands on one before shelling out the dough.

Appears to be vulnerable to careless airline baggage handlers. Nifty looking product nonetheless

Honestly the wheels look no worse off than any other luggage. I bet they are ok. I’m more concerned about the life time of the pump like neirma.

If you will supply me with a case I will give it a trial run to Ironman China(round trip from Florida) and write a review.

Walter, I have been trying to get my hands on a Biknd Helium for months. No local shop or online retailer had them. I gave up and got a Pika pack. Look into them. They are nice and do not look like a bike case, which can help while flying. Biknd seemed to be a dead end, bummer for sure. I wanted one bad.
