Been in heavy rotation for months
and it has nothing to do with the fact that I never update my ipod.

what kind of bike I ride. Well, sort of.
I can have fun on any bike. Road, cross, mtn or our new family cruiser tandem. Problems do surface though. Like on my 2 hour mtn bike rides. Where the first hour is spent drilling singletrack until my upper body cries for relief. Then the second hour is spent wishing the super technical areas were sanitized. Ouch is the best wayt to put it. Also big thanks to Brad for working out my bike fit issues (on my road bike) but now every bike I won feels too small. Unless Thomson makes a 1 meter seat post, I’m gonna need a new mtn bike.
The views from our local trails are always worth the climb. Hell, the climbs are worth the climbs. The descents are worth the climbs.
We met up with Russ and a kid for Wyoming. Russ had to go so we took the Chris (kid from Wyoming) on a little longer of a tour of the trails. Right to the top then down one of the fastest downhills. So fun. The more dirt I get the more I miss it.

On our way out we ran in to the most seasoned trail builder in New England. He was great. Hikes back there everyday and works to keep the place clean. His old school canvas backpack was filled with tools and he carried what wouldn’t fit.

Stevil must be looking for people to sponsor by now. He has clothing, gear and great stickers. I nominate the above guy (Matt). He could use a new larger bag. Think about all the coverage you’ll get. The man is out there everyday being passed on the trail by hordes of mtn bikers. Just think about it. I’ll deliver the bag myself… Maybe you could throw in a pair of Budweiser suspenders too.
Without a race for a few weeks I question how I will hold to what has become my summer fitness. As you can see I am quite lean and my hair is longer than it has been in years.
I’m bringing home my cross bike this week to get it built back into a race machine. This means dirt roads and trails are in my very near future.
Been racing - a lot. It is summer after all. The dreaded time of year when you feel faster but so does everyone else.. therefore it’s a wash.
My wife says she spots me by looking for my socks.

No significant race stories. They all seem boilerplate anyway. How many weblogs do you visit that spew the same race recap bullshit anyway? Too many I’m sure. Look, I show up, try hard and see how it pans out. Just like you. What makes me different are my black socks.
Been riding at lunch a lot more. Not very hard to ride a recovery pace in this mess.

The Concord Crit is Saturday. The first race all year where I will be racing with more than 1 team mate at a time. Other than the track. If we can organize, we should be trouble. Come one out and make me lose my breakfast. I’ll be the guy riding the broken bike.
I have photos from Working Man’s Stage Race, promise I’ll post em soon.
